Top Gambler’s Review and Rating:

Aria, is the MGM Resorts family's property in the the City Center area of Las Vegas.  Prior to MGM's purchase and rebranding of the Monte Carlo to Park, it was MGM's newest Vegas Property.  It opened on December 16, 2009. Aria was clearly designed for the Asian traveler.  It's rich, deep woods provide a feel different than your typical American casino.  MGM has marketed Aria as the next best property in its portfolio after the Bellagio (not counting the upscale Skylofts and Mansion in the MGM Grand).

As part of the MLife Program the Aria players club is excellent.  You can use your MLife dollars throughout the MGM properties.

The casino itself is your typical MGM casino.  Its low dollar blackjack tables are a rip off with 6:5 blackjacks and the dealer hitting on soft 17.  You need to find the higher limit tables in order to get better (or even acceptable) odds.  We did not get a chance to visit the high limit room at the Aria, so we cannot address how it caters to top players.

We found the dealer and the pit bosses to be average for an MGM property.  A mixed bag.  Some were great, some were lousy.  We certainly did not get a feel that customer service was the top priority.

The property is very clean.  Unfortunately, it is very crowded.  The stores, shops, cafes and restaurants along the perimeter of the casino are very active and loud.  This resulted in many people stopping to watch my playing action.  I don't really like that, and the dealers and pit bosses did nothing to stop onlookers from gawking at my high dollar play.  In hindsight I should have taken my action into the High Limit Room.

With all this said, Aria is still a premier property.  MGM remains the top player in the business as far as we are concerned, so the Aria continues to get high marks.
